Africa Eco Voices is a communications initiative that is anchored in the Pan African Action Agenda on Ecosystem Restoration for Increased Resilience. This project is being led by a partnership that brings together the Healthy and Productive Ecosystems Programme of the United Nations Environment Programme’s Africa Office, AUDA-NEPAD, Convention of Biological Diversity, Center for International Forestry Research, World Wide Fund for Nature, Birdlife International and Environmental Africa Trust.
Role Description
Africa Eco Voices, in collaboration with Sweden ( Swedish Professors) is offering Environmental Conservation Training for journalists from Kajiado County. The perks are free transport, meals on full board, accommodation at the hotel and training. Conference tourism to highlight the environmental issues in Kajiado County such as the challenges being encountered currently with the floods , soil erosion and poor drainage.
During this training in Environmental Conservation you will gain in-depth knowledge and competence regarding all aspects of environmental problems, ranging from causes and impacts to adaptation and mitigation measures. Afterwards, you will be prepared to work for a more sustainable future as a journalist tacklingenvironmental issues.
Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong research and investigative abilities
Understanding of journalistic ethics and standards
Demonstrated experience in news writing and reporting
Ability to work under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations
Proficiency in digital media tools and platforms
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
Knowledge of African culture, current affairs, and environmental issues
Flexibility to travel for assignments as needed
