This is a remote role for a Junior Sport Journalist at Soka la Bongo, located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Junior Sport Journalist will be responsible for covering local sports events, with a particular focus on football. Day-to-day tasks include writing sports articles, conducting player and coach interviews, attending press conferences, and collaborating with the editorial team. The journalist will also be responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest sports news and trends, and contributing to social media content.


Candidate Requirements:
• Education: Diploma or higher in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

• WordPress – Ability to publish and manage articles on a website.
• Canva – Skilled in designing creative and engaging graphics.
• CapCut – Basic to intermediate video editing skills for short sports clips.
• Personal Equipment: Must own a functional laptop and a smartphone for remote work.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of Swahili (written and spoken); English proficiency is an added advantage.
• Sports Knowledge: Strong passion for and understanding of football (local and African, ).
• Creativity: Ability to craft engaging, fan-oriented content that attracts audience interaction.
• Self-discipline: Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively while working remotely.
• Communication: Strong digital communication and teamwork skills.
