Job Description:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with Nkuriza Project and WVIB management , WV National Office , to develop and implement an effective communication strategy based on the project and donor requirements;
Document project’s best practices/innovations and share theme with relevant stakeholders (Conduct field visits for marketing and content gathering);
Develop regular project newsletter highlighting significant changes / impact / life stories and lessons and share with managers on quarterly basis;
Monitor the development and the implementation of the communication plan and make recommendations to relevant staff;
Ensure compliance with donor/WVI branding policies and coordinate communication events as required.
Provide support in development and implementation of communication strategy as well as flow of tools.;
Work with Manager to maintain the Audiovisual Production unit for World Vision ensuring efficient use and security of assets;
Provide Videography and documentary support in terms of idea formulation, conceptualization and production;
Review reports and provide quality and timely feedback and hands on support.;
Ensure that all work done in the audiovisual domain is recorded and billed. Keep an updated record and status of audiovisual assets and manage (store, update & disseminate) video resources for WV Burundi.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:

Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experienc
Qualification required: BA in journalism, communications or public relations, Public health.
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in journalism, public relations, marketing or Communications public health.

Technical skills:

Excellent communication skills in English, French and Kirundi (written and verbal).
Excellent writing skills, with photographic and video skills
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, the media, the Government, donors and other partners
Ability to generate and maintain effective networks with the media and other partners
Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines.
An energetic, analytical and self-starting approach to projects that involve significant responsibility.
General experience in project management, with specific experience in the production of diverse and creative communications projects including publications, multi-media, websites/pages, photo and video reports
Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communications skills.
Able to travel and work in the field as an essential function of the position.
High level of confidence and confidentiality

Working Environment / Conditions:

Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
Travel: 35% local travel is required.
On call: 10%
